The Southwest Elementary PTA raises funds through memberships and fundraisers. Where does that money go?
PTA dollars support education and build community through:
Spending varies each year based on the school community's needs. 97% of all dollars go towards these efforts. Three percent covers overhead expenses. Every effort is made to insure that PTA dollars are maximized for the benefit of students, families and teachers and staff.

Being a PTA member means joining a powerful association with a clear action plan—focused on programs and initiatives that strengthen your child’s education and the family-school partnership.
However you choose to PTA, it’s always an investment in your child:
• PTA to support teachers and curriculum.
• PTA to advocate for the issues impacting your child.
• PTA to help drive change at the local, state, and national levels.
• PTA to build a stronger, more diverse, and inclusive school community.
There is no wrong way to PTA.
We invite everyone to participate—because together, we can accomplish more than we ever could apart. Please join SWES PTA.

The SWES PTA holds general meetings on the first Tuesday of each month from 6:00–7:00 PM. Some meetings are held in person at the school, while others take place virtually over Microsoft Teams. Please refer to the PTA calendar to confirm the format for each month. These sessions are open to all and provide a welcoming environment to connect with parents and school staff while engaging in meaningful discussions about our community. The meetings last around one hour and provide updates on ongoing initiatives and decisions.
If you are not yet a PTA member, you are welcome to join at any meeting. Membership must be renewed each year—thank you in advance for your support!
